Atmosphere & Building

Historic Castle: The museum itself is housed in an architectural marvel: a stunning Moorish Revival-style castle that once served as an upscale hotel.

Multiple Levels: Your journey winds through three floors of exhibits, with new surprises around every corner.

While there are numerous stairs throughout the building, elevators are available for accessibility.

Theatrical Elements: Many displays incorporate dramatic lighting and theatrical presentations to enhance the oddities on display.

Unique Log Home: Before entering the museum you should take a moment to admire the tiny log cabin displayed outside.

This miniature wooden home showcases just how small functional living spaces can be. It’s just another “believe it or not” moment before you even step inside.

Gift Shop Finale: Your adventure concludes in a well-stocked gift shop where you can purchase souvenirs to commemorate your journey through the strange and unusual.

From quirky t-shirts to bizarre trinkets, you’ll find the perfect memento of your visit.

Other Considerations

Admission Value: Ticket prices run approximately $20-30 per person, with various package options available. Not inexpensive but also not the priciest museum you’ll find in the area.

Time Recommendation: Expect to spend anywhere between 1.5 to 3 hours exploring the museum, depending on how thoroughly you read the descriptions and engage with the interactive elements.

History buffs and detail-oriented visitors may want to allocate additional time.

Family Friendliness: While older children and teenagers typically love the exhibits, some areas might frighten very young children.

Toddlers may be scared by darkened rooms and some of the more macabre displays, so parental discretion is advised.

Parking Details: Convenient parking is available directly at the attraction at $5 per hour. So yes, it does cost money, and it charges per-hour.

This is one of the worst parts of the experience just because so many museums offer free parking. But I would still say the experience is worth it!

To learn more about parking options you can visit the museum’s website to plan your visit in more detail.
