Menu Highlights

Cobia Collar: This is almost a must-try dish. The Cobia collar is a true standout of the menu.

This perfectly fried fish delicacy features crispy, edible cartilage that provides a delightful textural contrast to the tender, flaky meat.

The Vietnamese dipping sauce balances the richness with tangy flavor notes that elevate this unique dish to legendary status.

Short Rib Gnocchi: Here’s a menu mainstay that’s been around for over a decade.

This Parisian-style gnocchi with house-made ricotta and pickled peperonata melts in your mouth with every bite.

While the presentation might not be as visually stunning as other dishes, the flavor profile is unforgettable and makes it a perfect comfort food, especially on cooler days.

Lamb Neck Tagliatelle: This rich pasta dish featuring tender lamb neck meat is both hearty and flavorful.

The pasta is perfectly cooked and the depth of flavor in the sauce makes this dish worth returning for again and again.

Potato Crusted Fish: A textural masterpiece featuring delicate fish wrapped in crispy potato for a delightful crunch.

The finger lime, dill oil, and crème fraîche components create a bright, balanced accompaniment that perfectly complements the fish without overwhelming it.

Cheese Duo: Cheese lovers rejoice!

This starter features two complementary plates: one with traditional charcuterie elements (quince paste, marinated olives, cheese, and sourdough) and another featuring fried artichokes, braised grapes, and truffle honey topped with raclette fondue.

The combination offers a perfect start to your culinary adventure.

Desserts: The kitchen’s creativity shines through in their dessert offerings.

The black sesame ice cream with pineapple and coconut jam, milk crumble, and Thai tea caramel offers a sophisticated sweet ending. Ice cream fans should give this a try for sure.

Or for something even more unique, try the nixtamalized papaya with roasted strawberry raspado and plantain skin cajeta. It’s a delicious texture of rice pudding with papaya instead of rice.

Ambiance & Experience

Open Kitchen Design: The restaurant features a distinctive horseshoe-shaped bar surrounding an open kitchen, allowing you to watch the chefs meticulously prepare each dish.

Request counter seating for the full experience!

You’ll get to watch the culinary artistry in action and potentially interact with the passionate kitchen team.

Atmospheric Balance: The space strikes a perfect balance between elevated dining and relaxed comfort.

The moody lighting and modern décor create an upscale feel without pretension, so it is suitable for both special occasions and casual meetups.

Small-ish Interior Layout: While the restaurant isn’t enormous, the thoughtful design includes bar seating, chef’s counter spots, and more private tables along the perimeter.

This versatile arrangement works pretty darn well, whether you’re dining solo or with a group.

Noise Level: During busier periods the bar area can get quite lively. This can create a bit of a disconnect between the casual bar vibe and the more refined dining experience.

If you’re celebrating a special occasion, you might want to request seating away from the bar area if you plan to go during peak dinner hours.

Other Considerations

Pricing Expectations: Be prepared for premium pricing that reflects the restaurant’s Michelin recognition and culinary creativity.

To be clear, this is worth trying at least once. But try to plan in advance to be OK with the bill.

Most reviews online seem to mention spending $100+ per person for a full experience with multiple dishes. I would say it might be even pricier, maybe closer to $125 per person.

Varied Portions: The portions vary based on each dish. But with that said, a full set of courses will definitely satisfy any hunger.

Reservation Recommendations: While weeknight reservations are relatively easy to secure about a week in advance, this is a popular spot.

So if you plan to visit Rooster & the Till it’s worth planning ahead – in fact I’d say reservations are almost essential if you want to visit during peak hours. Especially so for weekend dining or dinner dates.

The Menu’s Approach: The menu features small shareable plates, sort of like tapas, that encourage trying multiple dishes.

It’s worth ordering 4-6 dishes between two people to create a satisfying meal experience.

Or for the full experience you might consider the chef’s tasting menu where the entire table participates in the same culinary journey.

Happy Hour Available: The restaurant offers a happy hour, though it doesn’t feature significant price reductions to be honest. So coming during this time just to save money may not offer a substantial discount.

However, it does provide an opportunity to sample some of their celebrated dishes in a more casual setting. Particularly the legendary Cobia collar.

Parking Situation: Convenient parking is available across the street from the restaurant. So access is relatively stress-free compared to many urban dining destinations.
