Movie Magic Under The Sky

Double Feature Value: For just $7-8 per person (or around $21 for up to six people), you’ll enjoy TWO first-run movies. It’s the same types of films currently showing in regular theaters but at a fraction of the cost.

Updated Technology: Don’t let the vintage exterior fool you. The theatre recently upgraded to laser projection systems, delivering surprisingly sharp, bright picture quality that rivals modern cinemas.

The screens are large and perfectly visible from throughout the lot.

Perfect Sound Options: You can listen through your car’s FM radio for crystal-clear audio that you control, or rent a Ryobi speaker for just $3 if you prefer not to run your engine.

Current Releases: Silver Moon consistently shows the newest blockbusters from superhero adventures to the latest horror films.

One screen typically features family-friendly options while the other shows films for more mature audiences, ensuring everyone can find something to enjoy.

Nostalgic Pre-Show: Before the main features begin, you’ll be treated to vintage snack bar commercials and classic drive-in content that enhances the retro atmosphere.

Food & Refreshments

Concession Stand Treasures: The clean well-maintained snack bar offers all your movie favorites at surprisingly reasonable prices. A large popcorn (with free refills!) costs under $10, which is a stark contrast to the $15+ you might pay at chain theaters.

Pizza Worth Mentioning: The pizza is perfect for sharing while watching the double feature.

Comfort Food Variety: Beyond the usual suspects, you’ll find hot dogs wrapped in foil to stay warm, nachos with hot cheese, cotton candy, and a wide variety of other treats that hit the spot during movie time.

Budget-Friendly Refreshments: Unlike traditional theaters that gouge on concession prices, Silver Moon keeps everything affordable.

Atmosphere & Experience

Ultimate Comfort: Perhaps the biggest perk is enjoying movies from your own vehicle. Recline your seats, bring pillows and blankets, adjust your personal temperature, and create the perfect viewing environment without disturbing others.

Family-Friendly Space: Parents particularly love the freedom this venue offers. Babies can be babies, kids can talk and react naturally to the movies, and no one will shush you or give disapproving looks.

Pre-Movie Playtime: Families appreciate that children can burn off energy by playing near the screen before the show starts.

Nostalgic Vibes: The entire experience feels like stepping into a time machine. From the moment you drive through the entrance, you’re transported back to a simpler era of American entertainment that few venues can replicate today.

Other Considerations

Occasional Train Passing: Yes there is a train track nearby that occasionally sends a train through during movies. But it’s usually barely noticeable and doesn’t detract much from the experience except maybe for 10-20 seconds as it goes by.

Weekend Flea Market: During daylight hours on weekends the venue transforms into a popular flea market (known as the Swap Shop). So if you’re in the area this is a hot spot where you can spend a whole afternoon and evening.

Long-Standing Legacy: Many patrons have been coming for decades and it’s a great place to bring kids or other friends who have never been to a drive-in theater before. It is absolutely a thrillingly novel experience!
